Esther and Matthew’s Fun and Intimate Bay Area Wedding

I have a confession to make….

I almost forgot how to actually blog.  That’s embarrassing. Blogging is something that I love looking back on, but rarely have time to do in the middle of wedding season.

But guess what… we are all Sheltering in Place at the moment, and I miss my job.  Like… a lot.  So much so that I clicked through some of my favorite weddings of last year.  I know the current situation of being prohibited to gather in groups won’t last forever.  It sure feels like it has already.  I also know that for the foreseeable future, our world will look a little different.  We may only be allowed to have small, intimate weddings for a while.  That thought brought me to this wedding.

This was one of the most intimate weddings I had the pleasure to cover recently.  Don’t get me wrong, I love a huge 4 day blow out, or a huge ballroom extravaganza.  But if you ask me about some of my favorite weddings, they will be intimate ones like this.  A wedding where I can get to know all of the family members and watch the Bride and Groom being able to interact with and enjoy ALL of their guests.  A reception that goes absolutely insane during dancing because everyone is close and loves to show off their dance moves.

This wedding had all of that.  It was amazing.  It was sweet.  It was incredibly funny and joyous.

If our future includes some concessions to keep everyone healthy, and we end up with a lot of smaller, intimate weddings… I’d be just fine with that.  A slower day that doesn’t feel like a whirlwind just means more intentional and emotional moments.  That is exactly what a wedding is for!
